While photographing a house fire in Charlotte, North Carolina for "The Observer," a photographer noticed this Doberman watching one of the firemen.

The pregnant Doberman had been locked inside the house during the fire and had been in grave danger.

The firefighter was afraid of her at first, because he had never been around a Doberman, but faced his fears, scooped her up and carried her out of the house into her front yard while the flames licked at his heels.

When the fire was finally out, he sat down to catch his breath and rest.

The photographer noticed the dog walking toward the fireman and, wondering what she was going to do, raised his camera.

She walked up to the tired man who had just saved her life and the lives of her babies, and kissed him, just as the photographer snapped this heart-warming photograph.
